As Putin’s war rages on in Ukraine, we’ve been seeing weekly stories about the brave individuals who are risking their lives as First Responders and volunteer medics to treat soldiers and civilians injured in devastating attacks.

VisionTV presents the premiere of filmmaker and journalist Martin Himel’s new 1-hour documentary Tel Aviv 911. Tel Aviv 911 is a first-person account of Martin’s own story as a 60+ year old, 22-year veteran volunteer emergency medic with Magen David Adom, the Israeli equivalent of the Red Cross which provides emergency first aid services throughout Israel.

Magen David Adom is the only EMS in the world that seamlessly integrates 25,000 staff medics with 29,000 trained volunteers to provide effective initial treatment from basic life-support to first-aid. The Magen David Adom GPS App locates volunteer First Responders who can reach an emergency – including mass-casualty incidents – within minutes, often before the professionals arrive. It is a Game Changer in EMS operations and saves countless AND extra lives.

In Tel Aviv 911 we meet a diverse group from Abba – a 72-year old volunteer medic, to Yael – a young, observant Jewish woman, to Areen – a young, observant Muslim, who leads her paramedic team. Their work with Magen David Adom shows how staff and volunteer medics come together and transcend national, religious and age barriers in order to help the sick and wounded.
