It was Downton Abbey‘s night to celebrate at the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmys. The British period drama, now airing on Vision TV, grabbed a total of four awards at Sunday night’s annual event honouring the best in television.
The ITV series, now airing its second season in the U.K., was given awards for Outstanding Miniseries, Outstanding Writing and Directing, and Dame Maggie Smith won the category for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries.
Series creator and writer Julian Fellowes accepted the Outstanding writing award, telling the audience, “When we were in the hotel a bit earlier, my wife said to me, ‘I think we should just relax and enjoy the evening, because I don’t think we’re going to win’. Well, we’re going to enjoy the evening now.”
Series one of Downton Abbey is currently airing on Wednesdays at 9pm ET/6pm PT on Vision.
